lanthan.audio, the german label founded by christian gerlach, now presents its sixth release from abstract division . the netherland-based dou delivers a 4 track ep with two originals and two remixes by milton bradley (do not resist the beat) and albert van abbe (vanabbe). abstract divisions corrosive mind stands with a significant synthline that screws into your mind. surrounded from its open and pumping drums its really developing into a mesmerising piece for the dance floor with a high recognition value. milton bradley strips it down and presents a very strong tool with a great tension in itself. intervention grabs up its name and reflects the word into sound. it comes along with a exciting touch and builds up slowly but strong. with potent drums, like we knew it from abstract division, it is definetly a track for various situations but not without loosing its goal. albert van abbe abstracts the core and reshapes it with classic drum sounds and adds an emotional melody, its centerpiece. tight and thoughtful next strike from lanthan.audio again, which is expanding advisedly.

new project from massimo vanoni in which his black streak with slow-down & nu-disco-funk features prevails. the tracks have strong groove rhythms, with intense, rather thick and ascent.loops. the contaminations collected by the club consoles seem to merge in the creation of unreleased songs which recall an interesting return to the old beat with dynamic rhythm.

oshana steps up to deliver the first blow for partisan, a fresh, new imprint. warm melodic tones, bending synths, razor-sharp percussion and noticable grit bind together this dancefloor focused ep. with its fast paced and innovative sounds its a strong step forward for this unique producer and a great start for partisan.

having originally surfaced on creme organization back in 2002, luke eargoggle and ronnie johansson s monkeyshop project is an intermittent treat that offers the best of warm synth-led electronic disco. on their second outing for ali renault s vivod label (after the excellent escape from the mental zoo ep in 2014) the pair bring yet more of that addictive, utopian dance magic on this new record. -island of love- is indeed a romantic club burner with smatterings of vintage synth pop in its bones, while -heartbreak- takes a more overtly italo direction and sounds just as strong with it. obergman then takes -island of love- to task with a respectful remix that shines a few different synth lines and beat patterns through the same fuzzy prism.

increasingly known for his productions as much as his storied dj sets, eric cloutier approaches the studio with the same kind of precision that marks out his club and festival appearances. on this first release on palinoia he exercises a keen sense of control over playful elements, not least on lead track -heuristic-. the nagging lead synth may hop around the mix, but it stays locked on to a thoroughly focused undercarriage of drums and low end that suits the professional techno set. -ipseity- is lighter in its demeanour thanks to some calming pad tones, but the strong structure of the track remains. the release rounds up with the slower thump of -opprobrium-, surmising cloutier s attitude to the warm-up part of a serious, long-lasting dj set.

having first surfaced last year with their first various artists release featuring the dearly departed andreas gehm, the stealth mission label is back with another four-strong salvo of no-nonsense acid, electro and techno. naked eye people kicks off proceedings with the punishing jacker -short distance- before barrow boy whips up a perfect slice of malevolent 303 mischief on -btb (demo mix)-. on the b side there s space for a little more reflection with the spacious pings of bobby durst s -shape shifting- before mike storm turns the heat back up on the delightfully unhinged -dark sight (sims jff edit)-.

hotflush are proud to introduce an exciting young artist, pyur, along with her singular debut lp epoch sinus. despite her relative newness, pyur meets the world with fully formed and unique signatures in both visual and sonic work, revealing a deep artistry that transcends medium. growing up in munich, in and amongst the same fecund scene that spawned artists like the zenker brothers and skee mask, pyur cut her teeth from a young age as a guitarist and singer before becoming spellbound by the electronic world�s endless scope for sound design. endowed with innately strong synaesthesia and reared in a shamanic household, she tells how music �played the biggest role in my growth. it alone had the purpose to help me dissolve boundaries, discover the beauty of life�s mechanisms, create freely. it talked. soon i felt like the music was making me, not the other way round.� epoch sinus is a seamless and heartfelt whole, a life-like being unto itself, describing the disintegration of barriers between the self and the all. here pyur offers an intimate and personal statement, combining knowledge of universal harmony with electronic music. she states: �i m mainly influenced by my inner visions and nature itself, yet also a lot from club culture, which is undoubtedly an important space of connection and freedom for so many people�. the record dances playfully between supposedly incompatible qualities: moments of brutality turn to softness, new life embraces decomposition, while explosive rhythmic and melodic structures are tempered with gentle and subtle percussion.

decoder recordings is back with its second release. swedish dj and producer mattias fridell delivers strong driving techno on the ep called the tasker. it contains four tracks, and the title track immediately discloses what s the deal with this ep: quality loop based techno with fridell s signature clearly present. current world ecclesiarchy is the second track and on the same level as the tasker, while 33 endocytosis is a bit more funky. a pounding remix of that last track is delivered by the binary mind.

fragil musique reaches the 20th release mark, and offers us a very special debut ep from a newcomer to watch. vidock lands on the label with an unusual three tracker, oscillating between intense breakbeat excursions and moody techno hybrids. -dub attack- is the main club weapon here. cycling around the drum loop, pads and samples build up to heavy tension moments, then fade away to fully unleash the force of the stripped down broken kick-bass groove. the pressure is strong and never stops rising, gradually bringing the dancer to a manic arms-shaking state, while sporadic laser synth shots and percussion hints sprinkle the track, smartly shaping its three-dimensional aspect. on the b side, dance music ufo - metamorph - is an epic journey through what feels like unexplored fringes of sample driven emotional dance music. movie-esque haunting voices and disturbing sirens set the vibe, inviting one to drift along this dark and coloured ride. fellow nantes native simo cell goes trippy on the remix, taking apart the most heady bits of the original and extending them into a deep and breaky piece.

folie a deux is releasing their first vinyl ep on hamburg based home label tach & nacht! this stunning 4 track ep consists out of 2 original tracks and 2 strong remixes from andrea ljekaj and malbetrieb. the journey starts with �pulse�, a track full of ambient sounds and dark beats sounding like the night. continuing with�axon�, a deep story containing a wide range of emotions, which are expressed by complex and dark melodies. on the b side we come across andrea ljekaj�s �pulse remix� which takes you on an intense groove with wide strings representing sun rays breaking through pulse�s dark night. in the end maltrieb does the job by ending the journey with a perfectly balanced track. bringing the atmosphere back to a positive and chill vibe. each track is a different chapter of a story called pulse ep by folie a deux.

arcarsenal is back on finest hour with a four tracker ranging from dub techno to junglish atmospherical beats through house and breakbeat. this ep showcases their constant evolution while simultaneously keeping a mature sound and a strong identity.

new york experimentalists sheik n beik continue on form as they follow up records from japans keita sano, legowelt & xosar and jeffrey scott with a bold and atmospheric 12inch from jerry riggs & maxwell church a.k.a hermans. hailing from toronto - hermans specialise in their own brand of esoteric techno that lends them perfectly to a release on sheik n beik. their things change ep slots neatly into the catalogue with its blend of spooky melodies and analogue drum work. diana (how youve changed) kicks things off with an infectious vocal loop and juddering drum patterns. brooklyn�s max pask then follows up with his take on diana which sets 909 drums over a thick, burning acid line. endless toil then follows up with a tightly wound groove built with metallic whacks and frazzled, flexing synth tones. forget the past then brings the package to a thumping close as manic synth lines dart between crunching drums in another strong addition to sheik n beiks catalogue.

after a few months of silence following head honcho marco shuttles sing like a bird (reprise) ep, eerie records is back on duty with a strong and utterly refreshing techno release by talented artist serena butler, an obscure producer digged out of the submerged underworld as it already happened previously on shuttles imprint that got us used to releases by relatively unknown and underrated artists. arpeggiated synth lines layered on booming reverbed kick drums mixed with percussive elements of distorsion and lush pads make for a very playable release that is at the same time dreamy and deep, despite being also very organically open sounding, musical, and in many ways counter-trend and different to the dominating dark droning techno style that is so popular these days.

charlotte de witte, without doubt one of belgium s fastest rising talents in the techno circuit, and known from two strong ep s on tiga s turbo label, makes her debut on off.

dyad carry the flame for the dancefloor-centric sound of warehouses and big rooms worldwide. in their first outing for dba they offer two options for the discerning techno selector, one uplifting and rip-roaring, the other dark and brooding. dyad is a collaborative music project and label by ben gibson and fundamental interaction, launched in 2014. their first trilogy of eps showcased a muscular and melodic sound, with tracks like from another place, enclosed and zou receiving strong support from a host of highly regarded djs.

having lurked around murky corners of the grubby industrial techno realm for the past year or so, pavel milyakov builds on his rapidly swelling discography with this transmission for public system. it s the second release on the label following a strong opening salvo from dj spider and greypeople, and this 12- offers up further forthright club-wreckers that balance taut functionality with production flair. opening cut -strainn- delivers bludgeoning electro from the netherworld, which ekman then dutifully reworks with an added eerie tension. there are edgy arpeggios aplenty on -trance t- and warmer tones in -augusts 13-, rounding out an essential slab of serious techno tackle.

nice price deal !!! piemont starts the new year with another amazing release on their own label plumbum! >excuse me ep< is a great two tracker without any remixes as these tracks are special and strong enough to stand on their own. on the a side you find >excuse me< which gets you to a unknown place in a typical piemont style. a style, which can also be safely named experimental. playful drumming combined with trippy vocals refines the whole musical journey. on the b side >foot massage< gets your feet moving from the very beginning no matter whether you are on the streets of new york with headphones or in the club. definitely somewhere where hip hop feels at home. somehow the beat and the vocals remind of >music< by the mighty run dmc... you can only love the old school vocals and the spacy break � thank you, guys! another genious release!

friends & relations is a freshly minted imprint based in peckham, a neighbourhood that has gone from run-down dump to hipster haven in the space of a few short years. the label s first missive comes from its founder and proud peckham-dweller, ali nebraska gibbs, a producer best known for his missives on rush hour and mister saturday night. it s a predictably strong release, with both -stop playing with my heart- and -keep what ya got- showcasing gibbs skill for turning rubbery disco and soul gems into tasty, club-ready house cuts. he s particularly good at teasing out tracks via judicious use of sampled loops, as the deeper and smokier closer, -rat boogie-, deftly proves.

the grooves of thomas white and pete williams aka natural rhythm, have been a mainstay in the sets of robsoul boss phil weeks for more than a decade. today he pays �tribute� with a special re-release of some of his favourites. born in a garage in the late 90�s, natural rhythm was a meeting of passionate musical minds. working together the pair sought to create their own style and sound, influenced by the tracks they were regularly spinning in their own dj sets across the country. creative sampling and their own raw beats, together with live instrumentation and regular guest vocalists, saw natural rhythm create a strong catalogue that, as we know, are still getting played today. with three albums and over 35 ep/single releases to their name, there more than enough music for label boss weeks to select from for the tribute ep. a tough job? of course. however, phil went straight for the four that never leave his box. leading the ep are the sun-drenched vocal vibes of �something big�, the title track of natural rhythm�s 1999 release on under the counter. our a2 is the lead track from 2001�s last call at the martini ranch ep, �chicago nights�, with its quaking bassline and disco dalliance. on the flip we�re treated to a choice selection from natural rhythm�s 1999 double album contrast in nature. first up with its celestial chimes and thumping kick is �smoldering island�, taken from the original part 1. closing the tribute release and taken from part 2 is the devilishly funky and suitably titled feelgood jam �energized�. we definitely are!
